Hello all, I have an Evinrude V6 225hp VRO motor which has fuel leaking out of the VRO pump (the unit with the wires sitting in resin). This fuel comes out when running and when priming up the motor. My mechanic has told me that he has never serviced one of these before and does not know if they can be. He says that a replacement unit is approx $700.00 Australian. Has anybody any experience of these units leaking and if so is there O'rings etc inside which can be replaced? Any help much appreciated.

Regards - Scotty

Are you sure it's the fuel / oil pump? Not the primer solenoid?

It is behind the unit on the left (port) side of the engine. It has a series of wires running into it which are set in expoxy. The mechanic called it a VRO pump, but it could well be the primer solenoid. It is circular in shape and is held together with torx screws.

Thanks Rick, Thats the unit I'm looking at I have pulled it down and found an O'ring which appears to be the leak. I will replace it and go from there. Thanks again.
