In a stunning performance on "60 Minutes," House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi proved again why she cannot be trusted to keep America safe from the threat of global terrorism and Islamic extremists.
Mrs. Pelosi demonstrated that she does not understand the global nature of the threat when she stated flatly "the war on terror is the war in Afghanistan." She may think the war is limited to Afghanistan, but where does al Qaeda believe the war is? Al Qaeda's No. 2 man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, in a letter to the leaders of al Qaeda in Iraq, was clear about the location of the global jihad and the importance of victory in Iraq:

I don’t get a feel that Pelosi has a clue how to run the House. She is more of a “do as I say, not as I do” instigator kind of person, not really creative and lacks all kinds of leadership abilities. I doubt the old school dems are going to tow her line. I think it will be quiet and mostly under the table but I’d bet there is already a sub-current of contention forming that is going to make it from difficult to impossible for her to be effective, and she’s hasn’t even taken over yet.

Pelosi heading up the House is going to make for some of the best comedy material in decades. It’s also likely to make it hard for the dems to keep the House in the elections a couple years from now.

Custom,
Nice opinion piece from a southern partisan Republican congressman. Who are you going to quote from next? Rummy or Dummy? Would it be too much to ask to wait at least till the woman takes the leadership role and actually tries to pass legislation before we start swift-boating her?

Hey, I don't write her stuff, I don't make her appointments, and I don't put words in her mouth. If you don't like what she does, tell her, not me.

In fact, just the opposite, I like what she does.8)

A true liberal makes decisions based on what they feel is correct even if the facts prove otherwise.

I totally Agree!! We, as a nation, are way WAY to PC, Can't hurt a few feelings to do what is right and what the majority want. TIme to get off the PC wagon and start doing what needs to be done and what is right.

Ken and Eric,

Give me an concrete example of what your talking about. Because I haven't a clue what your saying. This isn't right wing talk radio, where you righties sit around and tell each other what a liberal is and does, but never allow a liberal on to give their voice.

And while I'm at it, Custom, who's bitchen but you?

Monica,
You have a chance to state your opinion, so do it. And I will do the same

EDIT:
Racial profiling, it works
Phone taps, they work
Welfare, it doesn't work it's burden on taxpayers
Hypen Americans, we are all Amreicians
Hate crimes
Affirmitive action
Employers having to hire "minorites" to get a federal contract. Hire those that qualify for the job, not their skin color
Fight the war on terror and drugs like a war. Take them out, not matter how and where they are (and I am not saying nuke them).
No consequences for being here ILLEGALLY
Having teachers learn spanish or lose their job

Does that satisfy your left wing thinking? ( I say that as you labled me a righty, which I am, proudly)

Swift-boating alludes to the company of soldiers that came out against John Kerry for his lying and deceit as regards his war record.... AKA, telling the truth. Sounds like a bit of bitchin' to me.

Again, I don't recall saying I didn't like what she does.

If you like what she does, why the swift-boat complaint?.... you need to get your story straight.

Custom,

And how did Kerry lie about his war record?

I like what Pelosi does. I don't like like what the corporate controlled conservative media does.
For example, the democrats vote for leadership position and the media paints it as this great division among the democrats. The repubs have a vote for a leadership position and Trent Lott wins by one vote and the corporate controlled conservative media paint it as a great comeback for a once disgraced Senator.:/

I remember when the supreme court selected Bush as president and all the conservatives and pleaded for our country to come together, get over it and sing kumbaya.

Soooo to all you right wingers, take your own advice and start singing and get over it.d:)

Re: Pelosi's war blunder

Liberal envirowachos are a great example:

Feeling - Logging kills spotted owls; fact - other bigger owls kill spotted owls

Feeling - disposing of ships and oil rigs offshore pollutes; fact - they make great fishing reefs

Other examples:

Feeling - all terrorists are in Afganistan; fact - terrorists themselves claim the line in the sand is in Iraq

Feeling - we should give all kinds of tax money to the poor; fact - if we collect less taxes, there are fewer poor people.

Sorry, its late, so I challenge others to think of more.
