My remote (commander 3000 classic panel mount) is stuck in neutral and the button will not pop back out to allow shifting. The problem is definately at the control because the button is stuck in the "in/throttle only" position. Any help?
Re: Commander 3000 Panel Mount Control Stuck in Neutral
the recall was about uneven effort required to operate the handle...the button might only have broken(very common-we stock them)..the button has two small prongs that lock it in but you have to open the box up to get to it8)

I have just the oposite problem - the button goes in but the handle will not move forward in the throttle only position. Normal shift with throttle control works ok.
Because I can't move the handle forward in throttle only position, I can't remove the Throttle Only Button thus can't remove the handle, etc.
How do I get the button to work? Does it need lubrication?

Re: Commander 3000 Panel Mount Control Stuck in Neutral
This might help as it helped me. I had a problem where the button on my Classic 3000 remote control would stick in some of the time. I would get firm with it (Push it in and out) and it always came out.
This past month it refused to come out so I removed the button by pushing it in and placing the throttle all the way forward. I then pulled the throttle button out using two flat blade screw drivers.
I then cleaned up the button including the shaft goes into the controller.
Then I took WD-40 and placed the spray tube into the hole in the actual controller and gave it a shot. The spray tube was placed in the hole in the bolt bolt that holds the handle on.
As soon as I did this I could tell by the way the button pops out that I had lubicated the spot that was keeping the button fron poping out.
I plan to place this step on my list of things do each spring I take the boat out of storage.
