Iran defiant as anger mounts over Holocaust forum

Iran has pressed on with a controversial Holocaust conference as international outrage mounted over its hosting of "revisionist" historians who cast doubt on the mass slaughter of Jews in World War II.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Tuesday slammed the conference as "shocking beyond belief", a sentiment echoed by his Israeli counterpart Ehud Olmert and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.



A host of Western "revisionists" who doubt the slaughter of six million Jews in World War II took place, including a former Ku Klux Klan leader and a Frenchman given a suspended jail term in October, have taken part.

That would be David Duke for the Klan.

Who cares?!? The whole subject is a quagmire of political correctness with little interest in representing all of the facts anyways. One side would have us believe the event never happened, the other side would have us believe they were the only victims. They are both wrong.

If you ever want to be an in-your-face offensive piece of public art, see the holocaust memorial in San Francisco. Sad, but it isn’t just one side of this issue that is being stupid about the reality of the holocaust.

Ya know what's cracking me up though? It is that these denial guys need only look to Germany for their answer. A lot of the bad stuff obviously happened in Germany. The German people have every reason to deny something that is damaging to themselves, yet it is illegal in that Democracy to deny the Holocaust (bad law BTW). Why would that be so if it was a fabrication?

As much as I love the people and culture of Japan, I’m still waiting for the day when they will admit to their wartime atrocities. What Japan did to people on mainland Asia made life in a German concentration look like a vacation resort. Not saying the German concentration camps were a holiday, I’m saying what the Japanese did was that much more horrific! I can’t even comprehend people that malicious actually walking on the face of the earth.

Eco-summits between Japan and China still stall because China asks Japan to admit what she did and apologize, Japan is still in denial. It is so controversial that for years when the recent outgoing PM of Japan would not even visit Japan’s war dead memorial on the official holiday, until he was scheduled to leave office. Only then did he go to lay a wreath at the memorial, on the appropriate day.

All of these people jumping up and down and wetting their pants over this collective stupidity in Iran, and not a single one of those shites ever says “boo!” about Japan’s denial of their atrocities. Nope, it’s only about POLITCIAL CORRECTNESS, about whose disinformation shall prevail. It has nothing to do with what is right and wrong.

There was a time i would agree with you, on the surface it would seem just a ploy to quicken the retreat of the US departure...............but i now firmly believe there is much more to this than anyone would like to admit or will admit to at this time...

Iran has proven beyond a single doubt that they are not interested in truth or respect for other peoples or religions.
For this holocaust denial they needed all the racist and anti semites they could find in order to fill the hall.
I have only one question for holocaust deniers.
Can they please tell me where my grand parents and my uncles and aunts are?
Because if there was no holocaust they must have gone to germany on vacation and they cannot all have died there.
Or is that a question that should not be asked?

I care,not just because of my murdered family,but also because if we ever forget to remember and study the holocaust,the very same thing will happen again in another place.
Holocaust deniers do not care about humanity as a whole and by their very denial they lay the groundwork for a repetition.

If you have to ask I suggest you find a religion to read up on. Most anyone will do . . . If you need the Reader's Digest version you can simply start with the Ten Commandments, should get you pretty close.

Oddly enough I have almost used Dr. Evil in these discussions. Ya know he is a comical character, and he is out to rule the world, and he has a "laser", and an evil lair. Sounds a lot like some of the guys at the Iranian evil bad guys party. Pretty amazing when you think about it. It's like a bunch of too bizarre to believe cartoon characters getting together, but what the flip? They're real . . . I wonder if they're gonna have a Free Saddam break-out session, maybe in the Treblinka Meeting Room or if it's well attended they'll reschedule it for Auschwitz Hall A.
