Is a Minn Kota Endura 50 a 12v or 24v motor? There are parralel wires running from two batteries(they are not ran in series) The negatives are tied together on one terminal on a three prong receptacle. The positives are on the other two terminals. Wires from the terminals feed a double pole, double throw switch, the upper position on the switch is labeled charge and the down position is labeled run. In the up position, I read twelve volts on each battery positive, in the down position, I read twelve volts on one battery lead but not the other. I cannot get the motor to run in either position.
I have disconnected the lead to the trolling motor and apllied voltage to the it and it runs(on twelve volts)What else should I be looking for?

That wiring configuration was apparently set up 24V operation. With that scheme, switching to charge, broke the line between the two batteries so they could be charged using a 12V charger. Eliminate the switch as its not needed in a parallel configuration. Your motor plug only has two active pins. 12v and ground. Wire the two batteries in parallel and make sure the POS lead(s) from both batteries lead to the corresponding positive terminal on the receptacle. Same for the negative line. It should now run.

Thanks for the help. Is the Endura 50 indeed a 12v trolling motor? The ID plate is faded on the motor and I have not been able to locate any info on the motor.
