I have just purchased a bass boat with 1984 xp 150 on it the aluminum prop on it is somewhat dinged up no "markings on it at all" as far as size pitch etc. I'd like to know what prop pitch to start with? I dont have mountains of cash but I will get a stainless prop preferably 4 blade but which pitch will perform best for this set up 4500 to 5500 wot per the mfgr? any help is appreciated I just dont want to buy several props to experiment with

should be numbers on the hub of the prop where the nut holds it on the motor then do a websearch, thats how i found mine. btw mine is a gt 150 and it has a 21p prop aluminum on it thats stock i think

Thats a pretty heavy hull.try to find the numbers on the one you got now,and have you ran it on the water?if so what was your rpms at wot.and speed?throwing darts at it 21 maybe close but way to many different varibles.

Another item to note....shoot for 5800 with this engine.
The manual might say 4500-5500 but with todays fuel, anything under 5500 is lugging for that engine.
If you have a 21 on it now, get some Top RPM figures with that prop and post back.
