A Christmas Miracle for our Household

ok, maybe not an actual miracle, but we're calling it that. We've been raising our niece for the past 8 years since she was eight, mom deceased, and dad is a real loser, but he wouldn't voluntarily relinguish his parental rights to clear the way for us to adopt. Earlier this year we filed a lawsuit to transfer the case to our county (he's 200 miles away), collect unpaid child support, increase child support and begin wage garnishment. Looks like that did the trick...we just got word from our attorney over there that he (the loser) finally came in and signed away his rights (in return for a rediculously low settlement on past-due child support - the money is way more important to him than it is to us). I don't have the words to describe how much stress relief that is for the wife & I.

jtexas, That has to be the greatest present one could ever recieve for you and your wife. Many years ago I and my wife toke care of two little girls and after a couple of years their piece of crap dad picked them up, it broke my wifes heart, I don't think she ever got over---Bob
