ok, need to repower 1998 19ft bayliner trophy. (rated for 150hp)

- currently has 305lb Force 120hp.
- seriously considering 140hp zuki 4stroke (weighs 421lbs)
- really concerned about too much weight causing performance problems and weighing down the back end too much.
- One marina offered me a 150hp zuki 4stroke, for same price as 140hp (both 07 models). However it weighs 474lbs.

what to do? Is this too much weight for the extra 10hp vs. the 140?

jeff weight would always concern me. get a friend to sit on transom, that would equal the additional weight. 170 lbs is a big difference, so is 100lbs.

the friend suggestion is a good one. see what it does to your scuppers.

although i love 4-strokes, i'd be looking for a slightly used 150hp 2-stroke for that boat. you can easily find a well priced merc efi that should match up well.
