Hey guys,

Just found this forum today.....great info!

I recently bought a 1994 17' Proline Center Console with a 1994 Force 90hp 2 stroke. The boat and motor are extremely clean, both been garaged since new and only have 63 original hours on them. I've had the boat out three times, runs like a champ. Had one problem, the starter wouldn't engage, lubed the starter, it then worked fine.

It was serviced about a year ago with new hoses, plugs, fluids, etc. I plan on replacing the impeller and the plugs just to know that they're new.

My question.......Anything in particular I should be be worried about replacing or doing maintenance on? I bought the manual online and it's a great help. So far, running like a champ. This is my first outboard.

Thanks in advance!

Re: New Force Owner Help

Welcome to iboats.

Use plenty of fuel stabilizer in the gas.
Also, run some Seafoam in the gas to keep it clean.
Decarb the motor annually with some Seafoam Deep Creep, Mercury Power Tune, or Yamaha Ring Free.

Might want to replace the fuel pump diaphragm. They break down over time, especially with all the alcohol in modern gasoline.

Loosen the lower unit drain plug and let a few drops of lube out.
Checking for water or emulsified water in the lube.
Make sure you don't loosen the shift pivot screw by accident.
