As reported by "FOX News". That's an oxymoron. ;)

Insight Article
(Insight is a Rightie tabloid)

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said, “It’s an obvious right-wing hit job by a Moonie publication that was designed to attack Senator Clinton and Senator Obama at the same time.” Kurtz went on to say that “Insight, like The Washington Times, is owned by a company controlled by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon.”

Hmmm, Guess Hill will need to come up with some more "right wing attack stuff" as this seems to be rollin' off ol' Bamma's back. Love those Clintons and their ability to pin the tail on the donkey,(n' blame the elephant)! 8)8) JR

I get a kick out of this.

This story originated from the Wash Times, and "reported" by FOX News, and somehow attributed in some vague unamed way, to Hillary.

The right wing hatchet machine has launched it's Swift Boats already!

Hey PW2, wasn't 'vauge' at all, it was specifically linked to Hill's campaign. FYI: Washington Times and Fox are separate entities. Love it when the favorite hammers the creation, and the favorite blames the right wing; great stuff!8)8)JR

the story broke on Insight Magazine (www.insightmag.com) which, incidently, makes this claim: "Voted Hottest Conservative News Site By Rolling Stone Magazine"

here's how they "specifically linked" it to the Clinton campaign: "Sources said the background check, conducted by researchers connected to Senator Clinton...."

They don't reveal the "sources", don't even claim that the "sources" were part of the campaign.

They don't claim to have vetted the story or the "sources".

btw, the Fox "News" story was an op-ed piece about the Insight Magazine story - not an independent story about the false report.

Here have a look at this, boy it’s going to be fun when we find out who actually started this smear.

CNN debunks false report about Obama

<, POSTED: 10:39 p.m. EST, January 22, 2007

JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN)

Allegations that Sen. Barack Obama was educated in a radical Muslim school known as a "madrassa" are not accurate, according to CNN reporting.

Obama lived in Indonesia as a child, from 1967 to 1971, with his mother and step-father and has acknowledged attending a Muslim school, but an aide said it was not a madrassa.

A spokesman for Clinton, who is also weighing a White House bid, denied that the campaign was the source of the Obama claim. He called the story "an obvious right-wing hit job."

It's not (an) Islamic school. It's general," Winadijanto said. "There is a lot of Christians, Buddhists, also Confucian. ... So that's a mixed school.">

The good news though, all the republicans are on-board with W and his plans.....no bickering going on there.

We all know this type of behavior is reserved for the dems only.

The reps continue to self-destruct as we speak. You are only hoping it will happen to the democrats.

BTW, whatever happened to the "support our government," ideology. You know, the one so many of you preached when reps controlled everything. Typical republican, do as I say, not as I do mentality.

Hey there: Tree, Willy only accepts news that is edited by his idols at: ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, NYT, Wash Post, et al. He considers "news" not reported by the lefties in charge of those MSM outfits not to be news at all. You think CNN 'debunked' this story, and now the job is to blame the Republicans? Actually: anything is possible, but only the Clintons seem to have this level of skill, (so if it is a RW plant), it is a very good one. JR

cnn sent a reporter to indonesia who personally inspected the school, interviewed school officials and alumni, and reported what he found, including names and dates. I found it more credible than "sources said." But you're just yankin my chain right? I mean shirly you know the difference. 8)

I don't have a personal agenda here, I don't want a Clinton presidency any more than you do, I don't know or care where the story originated could've been from either camp or neither. It was an exceptionally vague reference.

[btw if you're asking how I know that insight didn't vet the story, read again...I said they didn't claim to have done so. How I know is, I read the whole story.]

jtex, Thanks for the reply. My main concern with your post is you very clearly labeled the Insight mag article: FALSE. I was trying to get you to back that up, and you still have not done so. I also read the CNN article jtex, and I could not determine where they had proven that the Insight article was FALSE as you very clearly stated, they just clarified it a little further, (please show me where I am wrong here). Better yet: I watched CNN this morning and personally saw CNN's female anchor: Soledad O'Brien interview Mr. Obama with a very soft ball question that she answered for herself. Something to this effect: since our CNN team went to Indonisia and found that you attended a Muslim school that was not a particularly religious school, do you know who put out this information? Mr. Obama smoothly and tactfully said he did not. Why wouldn't any decent reporter ask a more detailed question that would go towards the disclosure issue as raised in the Insight article regarding Mr Obama's two autobiographies? I will venture a guess. Hillary is the MSMs favorite, and Obama is their creation. Remember how there were issues about Mr Clinton's womanizing and corruption in Arkansaw that all the MSM just overlooked in 1991? Had they treated Mr. Clinton like a viel Republican he would have never been President in my not so humble opinion. Same thing is at play here. Obama is left of Mrs. Clinton, but at least he is not a known law breaker, so I'm just an interested observer. I am particularly keen about media treatment, because the MSM is badly broken in this great country of ours. Respectfully JR
