Re: State of Union

I see Drudge mysteriously left out Bush's opening remarks about Madam Speaker. And they dare to accuse themselves of accuracy. ;)

The one part that I thought was funny was how Nancy had her hands caught in her pockets when W said we can balance the budget without raising taxes. The not winning the war thing just added the icing to the liberal cake.

Thanks, but I can't even jokingly say I'm a dem. Those people are fycking whacked.

TV said, before the speech, that the early release of printed speech did not contain comments directed to Madam Speaker. Those remarks, in my opinion, were most gracious.

Re: State of Union

speech sounded more like an election speech rather than a listing of the actual state of the union.
I was expecting to hear about all the accomplishments of the past 6 years and all I heard was what we could do,should do or may be proposed.
another 50 min of life was wasted.
but I heard nothing of how our federal budget has been balanced or social security and healtcare was addressed or even how after 6 years we have secured our borders.
nah this was an election speech not a state of the union address.

rodbolt,

I was going to say the same. Much of what we heard was his campaign platform of 2000 and 04. I wonder why he did not speak of balancing the budget in 2000 though.

So much for small government.

The President appeared worn and much older than last I saw him. It is obvious the opposition to his rule has taken a grave toll. I feel bad for him although he controlled his own destiny and his shortcomings are of his own making. This is indeed a lame duck administration.

opposition? he ruled unopposed for 6 years.
my buddy in Pascagoula MS is finally gonna get some help in 07.
he is still in his fema trailer though.
its actually amazing how much this administration has done to help the MS and LA coasts since Katrina.
new orleans aint included as the best thing that could happen there is to abandon 80% of it.
however there is a heckuva lot of other coast that was obliterated that seems to have been forgotten.
for you inland non hurricane folk, coast means anything 150 miles inland.

no this years state of the union speech was the worst I have ever seen, it was a great campain speech but a very poor state of the union.
