My depth finder has several but one I like most is bottom track. In auto mode you can expand the bottom to see the bottom expanded full screen. You can expand bottom and up 10 feet, or 11 , 12, 20 ect. So if your fishing 400 feet deep you can expand the bottom from 400 feet and up 10. So screen will show from 390 on top to 400 on the bottom. This way can see even small fish near the bottom. Today lowrance units best would be 4 times zoom so you would look at the bottom 100 feet.
Furuno has a bottom lock that does the same thing execpt the bottom is always flat so you can not see structure or depth changes at all. This is a good feature when fishing in big swells as it shows fish very well, but I look for structure as much as I do fish when fishing for Lincod.
