What are your hobbies, other than boating and fishing?

I thought it would be neat to see if we can find some people in here who have side hobbies the rest of us are unaware of.

Mine are anything aviation. I want to get back into RC planes. I love riding my 4 wheeler, scooting on my scooter, playing on the net and playing online first person shooter and flying games. I love FSX and play it almost daily.

The things I'd like to do: Build my own kitplane one day. Get my HAM radio license. Find a wife. The last one is optional because she'll suck the money out of me making the first two harder.

I like working on fishing reels, building models and am in the process of restoring a '68 Ford Ranger. I'd like to do more stuff but I'm broke.

I just rebuilt my snowmobile engine. It's running so fast it scares the poop out of me. 99 Mach Z w/a M10 with a fox shock system and Simmons tunnel skis. My brother and I played hookie last tuesday and spent the day riding around the military trail outside of Madison for the day. Probably about 150 miles. Good comfortable ride.

I have a trip to the UP planned for the weekend but I just had some surgery so I might just go along for the laughs. I don't think I am up to riding without any recovery time. And some of the guys are incredible riders. I am average at best, but capable of long runs. We put almost 800 miles on in 6 days last year. We got about 15 guys lined up right now but that number usually drops off at the last minute.

I do a bit of home repair and remodeling. I am hoping for a considerable increase in the size of my deck this summer. I have a 15 x 25 foot deck, now but I want to add a hot tub and outdoor kitchen to finish off the job. I will be putting in new doors and windows in the next year. The slider is bad and will be done first. I would like to upgrade to some bay windows front and back and replace the remaining windows as funds become available. But most of all I like working on the boat.

Bird hunting has become one of my favorite ways to spend my free time. I didn't get to do near as much as I would like to have this last fall, but work was nuts.

My wife is an avid golfer and I enjoy golfing with her. League golf is just too nuts and I travel too much to commit to a schedule.

We do alot of quad riding and just got a 07 jeep. Last quad ride we did with friends there was a bunch of us it was great. I think there was sixteen of us.....

actually my hobby is reading, I like fishing, gave up killing critters years ago but still deeply engoy shooting. but mostly I read, dictionaries,encyclopedias biographies. only thing I really dont read much is fiction.
if it did not actually happen I dont care to read about it.
the guys at work laugh at lunch cause I pull a service manual off the shelf and read it all during lunch or I open the pats catalog on the computer and play.
however when they get stuck I get called.
my memory is failing but usually I can still hit it.
but I dont know if reading is a hobby or an obsession.
either way between fixing boats and reading I dont actually fish much. just when I travel.

mmmmm, no I dont think so.I think that falls under life's goals
but if I am wrong maybe I do have a hobby

Hunting but haven't shot a deer or elk in 25 years (my choice)
Collecting and shooting rifles and hand guns
Rock, UFO and Bigfoot hunting
(so far I've only found rocks) :'(

And anything else a 8 year old might like to do

Hunting, shooting, and video archery league (just bought a "new to me" bow last night). Like riding (motorcycles) and old muscle cars (own a 62 F-85 - okay, not a traditional muscle car, but it is cherry with less than 2,500 miles on it, and I got it used - and a 76 "Smokey and the Bandit" 50th Anniversary T/A - you know, the black one with the gold pinstriping and screaming chicken). Used to fly till a close call grounded me (my choice), and in the younger years loved to ski (water and snow) - now I just get out on the snow once or twice each year and shoulder surgery sidelined the water skiing.

Both the wife and I enjoy searching for Indian artifacts along the Muddy Banks. When we go out, we always pick a different area to beach. We have built a nice collection over the years. Miss the water....winters way to long.....:'(

Well lets see, when I have time and money (yea right like that happens at the same time) I work on old cars, there is no replacement ofr displacement. Also I collect old coinsand have found a couple of nice ones. When I can find the parts I biuld computers for underprivlaged children, nothing like seeing the smile on a childs face when you give them a computer!

Don't know if you would call grain farming and custom butchering hobbies but they are jobs that I really enjoy. Cutting and splitting firewood to heat the home during the winter would be included also. I sell life and health insurance as the main income but put more time into these other three. Still enjoy rabbit and quail hunting but my dog is long gone and it is not as enjoyable without one. It has been nice not having a dog but there are days when I miss having one. Still deer hunt two weeks out of the year and hunt morels in the spring. Other than that I just coach high school girls bowling from Nov.-Feb. Enjoy that too as the girls all get along great. We get our butts beat a lot but they are always smiling and laughing so I guess I'm doing something right.

I started going to the gym. I spend about five minutes on the Stair Master.

Then I go home home and spend about 8 hours on the Couch Master.

Then take the wife to bed, and let my imagination run wild!!!!

Lots of low intensity hobbies.

Like rodbolt I still enjoy shooting and guns, but have given up killing critters. I have a small collection of Browning long guns and a couple of handguns.

I used to collect old, small outboards and rehab them. Still have a couple.

Collect solid copper cookware from auctions and garage sales and occasionally do some gourmet cooking. Running out of places to display the polished copper.

When I was a lot younger I built and raced a Crosley powered H-modified sports racer and raced it. Then tried stock cars but finally settled on karts. Won a national championship in 1960 with a kart of my own design. Finally gave up racing to pacify my wife.

Dabbled in photography and poetry for a while. I read a lot of 19th Century history. Started that to research a biography of my great grandfather. Like rodbolt, I like to read about things that really happened. One exception is Tom Clancy novels.

I guess moderating (and agitating) on iboats is a hobby. I do enjoy this and spend several hours a day on here.

Same here but to a far lesser extent than "The Master"-JB.

I also enjoy fixing up old outboards, I too still have a few. I also have the sole responsibility for maintaining the family fleet, from 1800 miles away-AZ to AL.

Boat restoration has always been a passion. I do not have a project now, of my own, but am helping a freind fix up a 16' Starcraft Super Sport for sale.

I too enjoy reading and shooting. I'm looking into joining a local trap & skeet club. No matter how you prepare those clay birds, they're always a little "gritty".d8)

Wow, you guys make your hobbies sound so much more interesting than mine.

I like to shoot but don't really care for killing anything either.

I enjoy photography, aquariums, and making beer.

Working on anything with an engine. I also like to go and put some rounds downrange. Just built up a budget tactical 12 guage shotgun with 6 position M4 style stock so the wife can comfortably shoot it. Mountain biking. Home Theater (hope to have a flat panel in the house by the end of the year).

Plan on building a propane fuel turbine engine this year out of a turbocharger, just for giggles. The wife actually has faith that I won't blow myself up...

OK, everybody enjoys pics, so here's a few.

I enjoy messing with vintage Altec Lansing(pre-Altec Lansing Technologies) sound equip. I have 4 of these in my den.

Like some of the others, I fool around with photography, but with vintage cameras. I have a couple of these and some others.

I enjoy refurbishing old big twins. This is my second. I have a Golden Javelin on the way.

I also make the best BBQ(my opinion) around on an outdoor smoker.

The balance of my time is spent reading, sleeping, and doing yard work in season. I don't think anybody needs a pic of grass. I also like to target shoot and used to hunt, but dogs died and local hunting lands are now taken up by sub-divisions.
