Hey Rubber, Your gas is very potent methane and obviously contributes to the GW problem as green house gas, (you are a rather large source: Rubber). That said: their is a significant supply of oil in them thar fields: greater then Prudehole Bay so I'm told, which has been going for nearly 30 years. Bro Haut: ('Comrade' is a term of indearment for Commies: we are talkin Capitalism here Bro), FYI: it takes considerable time and resources to bring the crude to where it can be refined, and the oil markets are in a fairly tight suppy - demand situation so significant domestic production does have a very big impact. That's the way things work: Bro. JR

There is plenty of oil available elsewhere....
The Saudis & the rest of OPEC will just cut production & prop the price...

Hey Bro: Prudehole bay has had a significant positive impact on oil prices for nearly 30 years, (which most don't cornsider a "short term"). If ANWAR is bigger then that, (that's what the experts say don't they), then another 30 years of having a currently producing domestic supply couldn't be as bad as ya think could it? Did ya know that Caribou are flurishing, they love to hang near the pipline, as it is warmer then freezin' an breaks the wind, don't ya know Bro Haut?

I don't mean to take sides or belittle the intelligent discussion in this thread but was was just wondering if someone could enlighten me as to why, when the price of oil goes up $10 a barrel, gasoline goes up 20 cents a gallon the next day but when oil comes down $10 a barrel, the pump price drops a nickel - two weeks later.

The fog doesn't bug me a bit, btw.....In fact, once it lifted, it was 50+ & sunny in glorious Greenwood.....

Hey Rubber! Than's the beauty of a PROFIT MOTIVE. It's in your face, and real hard to miss. I don't know of many successful CAPITALIST enterprizes in any industry that don't want to make money.
