I have a 4.3GL VP 1997 and have a Perko flush valve to fit, which I bought last year, but don't seem to have found time until now.
When I removed the inlet pipe that goes to the water pump I measured the hose diameter as 1 1/4" and so ordered the flusher based on this size.
It has now dawned on me that this end of the hose is simply flared from 1" to 1 1/4" along its length and so it seems that my flusher will no longer fit.
Does anyone have experience fitting to this type of engine, can I change the hose to a flexible 1 1/4" along the whole length or is it better to get a 1" flusher instead?
Are they worth fitting?
Boat is in salt 9 months of the year.

I can't tell you what size you need but will say dont change hose size, buy the one that fits you application.

I have them installed on my twin Volvo Pentas, generator, and A/C system. They sure make it easy to flush the system and allow system flushing even when docked in a wet slip.

I have recommended them to several people.

Thanks, think I will buy the 1" version then.
Does anyone know if its worth buying the kit including the hose and fancy adapter at the other end?
Where is it best to mount this also or can you just leave it in the engine compartment, I do not like drilling holes in boats?

I bought the hose and fancy fittings and mounted mine on each side of the swim platform. Port engine and generator on one side and starboard engine and A/C on the other.

You don't have to buy the hose and adapter kits if you don't want. You can screw your fresh water hose right into the Perko flush valve.

Thanks very much Reel Poor, the pics have made me feel like installing it in the same way you have.
