Need some help..On changing motors!!!!!!!!!

I havd a 70 hp johnson on my boat....I bought a 90 hp Mercury today to put on it....How big of deal is it to change out the two motors on my boat.....what do i need to do ot make it as smooth as i can.........thanks for all you guys great help

An engine hoist will make it much easier on your back. You rent them pretty cheaply at most rental centers...Make sure you have sealant to seal the engine mount bolt holes in the transom when you mount the Merc..Disconnect the battery before you start working on the swap...

1st controls and wiring harness are not compatible. you need the merc controller, cables and wiring harness, and possible the steering link. check the placement of the bolt holes to make sure they line up, as you didn't state years of the motors. the engine hoist is the easiest way to change the engines, on a concrete pad. have someting ready to put the old engine on. also it is advised to use the mercury lifting ring that bolts to the flywheel.
