Start from the begining. We assume you have a 3 wire trim motor. Are you simply replacing the trim motor or installing a trim & tilt system on the motor for the first time?

With a 3 wire motor you'll need 1 solenoid or relay. With a 2 wire motor you'll need 2 relays. What do you have now?

You can put a 2 wire motor on a unit that had a 3 wire motor.

The OE service manuals have excellent wiring diagrams.

i have a trim motor that has 3 wires. one is black, and two other ones i dont remember the colors now.

i like to put a switch somewhere so i can make it go up and down. i already mounted the trim unit on the outboard.. just need to know how to wire it up with a salonoid.

What I did, instead of trying to track down the harness for a 30yo outboard, I went to the local auto parts store and picked up a couple $6 Ford style fender mount starter solenoides (one for yup, one for down). The 3 wires on the trim are green, blue black. I hooked the black to ground, green to one solenoid, and blue to the other. Supplied 12 volts to the other post, and set up 2 momentary switches on the dash to fire the solenoids. Works like a champ.

I could draw it out if that would help. Cost less than $20.

For a 3 wire motor you only need 1 solenoid. The solenoid is wired into the up (blue) circuit. The down (green) doesn't need one.
