I just trailered my pontoon down to Florida from NC. Since I'm learning the channels around Hernando Beach, I bottomed on a reef, and now my trim guage is out of whack. it only shows 3/4 to all the way up. The motor is going through the full range, it only seems to be the guage. Where is the sending unit? Is it a mercury tube or a potentiameter? My manual is home in NC. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !!

The sending unit is mounted just below the steering tube. Trim the motor all of the way up to the max tilt and look from the rear.

depends on if its a 2 or 4 stroke as to where the sender is.

Thanks for the quick response, it's a four stroke 115-hp . Is it fixable or just replace it?

depends on if the sender cam broke or slipped. best I remember the sender and sender cam is located slightly to starbord of the center of the engine and can be adjusted with the engine at full down.
the sender cam clamps around the steering bar tube.

I managed to get my fat rear end over the side and found that the sender cam appears to have slipped, it looks like it may just be loose. I used my hand to push the arm and the guage works fine. Thanks again for taking the time to help out.
