New Lowrance FF/GPS Anyone seen the new screens?

I'm close to buying a new fisfinder/gps unit and am planning on picking up a Lowrance LMS-334 as I want an internal gps antenna and a single frequency unit.

But I see they came out with new units with some update to the screens. So the new unit I'm interested in is the LMS 552.

But I can get the 334 on eBay. (Can't seem to get either here).

So I'm curious if anyone has seen the new screens and if they are noticeably different. The unit will sit under my canvas top and will never be in direct sunlight (except if I set it up as a portable). I've seen similar units (LCX-25) in a similar location and they are readable from the other end of the boat.

I just got a new LCX27C and the screen is great even in bright sun light. BTW, they redesignated the 300 series to 500 series.

Most places are out of the older units. I would wait and not get the 334 on Ebay because I would be concerned about warranty issues.

I have seen the new 500 serries units and they look almost the same. I think the main difference is they have the NMEA 2000 for Lowrance net as well as NMEA 0183. Also has Ethernet port for Radar, Video or Satelite radio. Also has a RS232 port.

If you want to see them they will be at the Fred Hall Boat show at the CowPalace in Daly city (South of San Francisco) this weekend Feb 14th to Feb 18th. $12 to get in but can get discount of $2.00 and many dealears or if buy your fishing licence from fish and game you get $5.00 off.

It's funny but I can't find out anything about your quoted Lowrance LMS 552. I can see the models LMS 520, LMS 522, LMS 525, and model LMS 527. Unless you made an error and meant to say LMS 525.

All the units above have been stated as new for 2007.

I'm looking at the 522. Yeah I have a typing problem Makes life as an accountant difficult.

Basically, I was looking at the 334 and saw the 522 is the same with a new screen. I want an internal GPS and single frequency unit.
