There is nothing to stay out of. This thing as been slowly unfolding over the last couple of months. It is not hard to see how this thing could/has escalated into a very significant problem for the US’s war on terrorism. We just don’t know how badly it has hurt “the cause”.

Someone asked how we know the one guy was non-terrorist…well, (a) he was released, and (b) he was interviewed a couple of times on FOX News. If he is “terrorist” why was he released after only 6(?) weeks detention? If he is “non-terrorist” why is he now barred from entering the US?

Like I said, if it wan't for innocent people getting caught up in this and the tortured angle, I don't think anyone would care. It wouldn't be an issue today.

No. I was just follow it as it popped up in the daily news. It is NOT a new issue. It has slowly been building for a couple of months. What is new is just that the indictments are being handed down now. I was doubtful the Italian gov’t was going to go cave to the pressure because they have been such a good ally…but I guess they did, or maybe there is more to this story that we aren’t aware of, yet.

Honestly, I am surprised that no one else on this forum was even aware of this issue. Especially something as significant as this. IT HAS BEEN IN THE NEWS !!!

What hasn’t been mentioned is how those indictments are shared across Europe’s borders. Those CIA agents named may be confined to the United States’ territories for the rest of their lives or risk being arrested and handed over to Italy.
