Can someone help me with this? All I know about Linux is that it's not user friendly, but it looks like its Windows without all the fat. Whats ubuntu? WTF are they talking about?

Is there a version that will work all windows programs and games just like XP does? If so, which one?

I tried the search option but it's confusing but did link me to a thread that briefly talked about Linux somewhere in it.

ubuntu go here www.ubuntulinux.org/ and others have "live" versions that you do not have to install to try, burn a cd/dvd and boot on it. Almost anyone that can use windows software can figure out the linux software, and it comes fully loaded with all kinds of stuff. Some windows programs can be ran with it but its not real good yet, a work in progress (wait isn't that microsoft???). I am running ubuntu installed, fairly simple as long as it can have the whole (at least the first part) hard drive, I had a 200 gig laying about. Updates are almost daily!

You could try knopper.com Form of Linux on Live Cd{Knoppix}.It runs off memory.........700 meg download> save to file/then burn on Cd from file........better still if you have DVD make it expandable,Set bios to boot cd or dvd first then run it and change lanuage to English....Computer goes back to normal after you shut it down and remove Cd or Dvd .....Change back bios to normal setup when finished and want to run Windows again
