You simply CANNOT make this stuff up. Seriously I don't think this guy should be charged with anything, just make him pay for the door he broke.

IMO he was trying to do the right thing.....

I'm not sure what I think of this. Yeah, he thought he was being a hero, but, the headline could just as easily been:
"Crazed intruder with sword, shot dead by tenant . Police baffled as to motive."

Oconomowoc is a pretty decent place to, not like it is a ghetto or anything close.

I don't think I would have pressed charges. Really, who wants all your friends and relatives to know that you get off on scenes of women getting raped and screaming at the top of their lungs?

Oconomowoc is a great little town. I go there all the time to visit my uncle who lives on the River over there. Its real nice and peaceful.

I think the worst thing about this is that charging this guy is going to hinder others from helping out their neighbors when something bad really does happen.

JB I am not sure if you noticed, but I copy pasted that title word for word from the NBC affiliate news story. I did that on purpose to show how ridiculous the story is and the way it is being reported.

The paper at least titled it Man mistakes porn DVD as woman's cries for help

Something tells me sword guy is a complete nutcase -

Van Iveren, who lives with his mother in the downstairs apartment, said he did not call police when he heard the noises because he does not have a telephone. He said he barely knew the upstairs tenant.

Had there actually been a woman being raped when he burst in, she would have a difficult decision to make - do I stay here with the man currently raping me or take my chances with this sword wielding weirdo that may have some sort of savior complex?
