Setting up the new boat for taclkle storage and am using a new system from Prime Tackle distributed by Ole Pete's.Ironically I have been using these Plano boxes for the last five seasons storing Dipsys and Jets and MaxxedOut's spoon caddys came along in the same box,now there are three different tube sizes available in the same box from Prime.I am trying to set up each box for a season, function or lure type. Our transom stowage area will hold 15 of these so we can be pretty diverse. The Mega Caddys will have to go up front and so far the large spoons are my weakest area but that will change after we are done putting all our money and effort into the new boat.
Reef Bite Box in small tubes.
Bouncers in long tubes.
Hooking the bouncer eye keeps it tight enoug to not stress the tube. Many 1 ouncers will fit in a tube as well as four per tube up to 3 ounce and two each above that.
How about 72 harnesses and 36 weldons in a box untangled???The ladder style holders are available from Ole' Petes and Maxxed Out provides the T2 Weldon style holder.
Load and go?Jets and Dipsys with harnesses attached to a Maxxed Out Origional holder.
Deep Reef Runners fit two to a tube once you get the hook positions down.
In the long tubes You can go up to 6 minnow baits up to the size of a HJ12 or Bomber Long A.
Rip Shads,Rattle Traps,Hot'n'Tots and other small cranks fit well in the small tubes many you can double.
Terminal tackle works well also, ran out of boxes but will be setting up four more to cover snap weight system, weight fowards(for the good old days...lol...),weights and the like.
Dipsys and Jets. There has been some chatter about painting thgem lately and we ran some last season that I finished with Dupont self etching primer. The topsides are an olive color and we went to a grey for the bottoms, for the drunken upward looking eye.Have to finish the balance that are still factory finished but the two stand alone photos are units that have been run, looks like adhesion is good.
Spoon Caddys???Where would we be without Max???Still shaking piles to use the first one that drops out???
Like I said the big spoons are where I am weak and need to expand but the Mega Caddy is a great thing as well, will give me something else to fill and more to buy as time goes on.
