Has anyone had any experience with the towing services ? I'll be doing some offshore fishing in the gulf this summer and I need some advice as to which one to join. Besides that the stories might be real interesting . Thanksd:)

They all suck. Pick one and take your chances. Seriously, I've heard good and bad stories about them all.

Does that mean I should let price be the deciding factor ? Maybe I could call
the local operator where i'll be fishing and get a feeling about the kind of business person they are ? :/

Re: Towing Experience

are you wanting someone to tow your boat to the Gulf, or are you talking about emergency on the water tow service. the Florida coast has great service from Seatow. Google 'Seatow' they even have a service for you trailer, breaking down.

Re: Towing Experience

Try this lin.k for info. on Boat US Towing service. I have heard good things about their service, have been a member for years just fortunate enough not to have needed them. Yet.

I worked for SeaTow for 3 years and I was the best8). Since I don't work for them anymore, it doesn't matter who you go with..

Re: Towing Experience

I would buy and install a good Kicker motor instead. Then maintain both motor in top condition. Cost of the tow is to ensure you keep your motors in top condition.

I do not know the Gulf coast as have not been their since 1968. Out here on the West Coast none of them seem very good to me. On the busy weekends seem to me always several boats needing towed in. Tow service alway willing to help but many time you here I will come get you ETA is 7 hours. I am on the way to get another boat and bring him in, then I come get you. Some times it less but I here as long as 11 hours also. Durning the week they seem pretty good.
