well this is my 1990 trophy 2459 baught aug 06 and is it just me or do you guys like to go thrue them and get eveything working and repaired. I'm learning how to glass & so far so good did the water tank shelf in pic but found some rot in farward bulkhead so i cut it out treated all surrounding wood with glycol. cut out new bulkhead and before i put it all back together im wondering if i should glass bulkhead nice and sturdy then just screm the floor back so i can remove it later if needed just currious if strucually this could be a problem since it was glassed in there and i had to cut it out. thanks to all dana.

I also think you should glass it back in. I have this exact same boat. I believe it to be a structural part that should be returned to the original design.

Interesting you had to replace the mount for the freshwater tank. Mine is also toast. I think the limber drains get clogged and water buildup underneath the shelf for the tank wipes them out. Do you remember what that drain looked like on yours? I still need to unclog mine and am not sure how to go about it. I am thinking I can reach it from under the fuel tank through the drain into the bilge. Would love to see more pics of that project if you have them.

Yes,

It was glassed in originally for a reason....structural integrity! Good Luck!

hello paul if you are refering to the drain hole in bulkhead between fuel tank area and water tank area there isn't one. this bulkhead is supposed to be a vapor proof barrior, i assume its becouse of the forword sleeping area? that is why bayliner put a bilge pump in that area, so it would pump while boat was at rest in water but i found that when boat was stored with bow up all water went to back and sat against the bulkhead after enough water gets in there it can freeze and lift or rot the water tank shelf in my case it delammed the glass. i repositioned the water tank a little forword and moved my bilge pump to the rear of this area since i leave my boat stored on trailer with bow up. i have done a lot of restoration to this boat resealed entire cabin with top off etc. and would be glad to share photos and info if your interested.dana
