MG uses brushes?

As most of yall know, I am in the market for a trolling motor. I finally decided to wait untill I can get a new powerdrive or W55.
In the most recent Cabelas catologs, MG wireless is advertising that there brushes are larger as to last longer. Since it uses brushes, does it not have the variation of the MK maximizer? Also, this limits its life somewhat, doesn't it? Just curious.

They all have brushes. The maximizer or MG digital circuitry has nothing to do with that. My previous boat is now 11 years old and now owned by my son-in-law. It has an Evinrude troller that has never been opened up and it still works fine after all these years of heavy use.

Hmmm. I thought I read somewhere that MK uses brushless technology on their higher priced motors. I wonder where I picked that up.

The MG website indicates the entire wireless series has "oversize brushes". Since brushes are not even discussed in the descriptions of the other products, it can be assumed they are "normal size" brushes. 8)
