I have a 1984 seadrive(v-6 crossflow ,non bubble back,150 hp,?/) and will be installing a bracket to bolt on conventional engine.Got a possibility of a 150 60 degree.Cant recall the yr. 97 ?maybe. Will the cables and harness be compatable with this engine. Also, please give your opinion on these engines.i know little about them, its not a ficht, but not a crossflow or looper. Thanks for the replies.

If the "new" motor is a 97', you will need an adaptor to mate up with the old electrical control cable. The 96' and later years have the deutch conntections at the motor. Bomby sells the adaptor cables.

Can you post a model number for the "new engine"? Probably a looper.

Don't have the number. I know its not an earlier looper,Its the 60 degree ,the ones with the orings for head seals, the flywheel just unbolts.i diod powerheads in the late 70's to early 90's these were coming on scene prior to Ficht. My hull is a full transom Anacapri, great shape, the seadrive runs great, but the steering is paper thin, hydraulics have needed some"tricks "done to work and I'm looking for an easy way out. Thought about pulling the powerhead, getting a standadard mid section and putting it all together. But ,when I'm done.i still have a mid 80's motor.A guy I dealt with has this 150 60 degree,he's the owner of the business, not quite savvy on rigging. So I was hoping I could slap the new engine on,and GO.
