before I order any parts...

93 mercruiser jet drive (90hp).

No fire,
Bought a manual for trouble shooting and found that the stator resistence (low speed) does not register at all on my ohm meter. High speed side is OK.
There is an adapter in the boat for the "red stator" but only one wire is hooked up. This doesn't make sense because the other 3 wires are just laying in the bottom of the boat.
1. Would this make the stator resistence be bad?

2. The next check also shows the switch box to be bad (no power to coils). Would this be caused by the stator?

3. Can you tell me where the other 3 wires of the red stator adapter should go? The manual doesn't show the adapter, I'm assuming the previous owner replaced the stator w/ a red one and maybe I had a wire come loose.

I'm looking at about $500+ (stator and switch box) so I want to get other opinions before buying parts.

Thanks in advance

I mentioned this in your other post, for engine problems, the best place to post your question would be the Force Outboard forum.
The Sprortjet models are nothing more than a Force outboard powerhead stuck on top of a jet pump and put inside the boat. It is NOT a Mercruiser. It's a Mercury product using the Force outboard powerhead for power.

It's not a fact that it's "Trouble", the problem is that you would probably not get the info you need from this forum because the right people miss the post.

Good Luck
