Insurance company's using information on specific groups of people to set insurance premiums. And law enforcement doing the same to possibly curb crime?

Insurance lobby was asleep at the wheel when the Homeland Security Act was passed, and didn't get included as a beneficiary of same.

The insurance companies are run by pragmatists, the police departments are controlled by politically correct Liberals. IMHO, never the twain shall meet.

Insurance companies will do whatever they can get away with, in order to lower their risk and increase their profit. Law enforcement tries to abide by the law.

The police departments are run by jack booted thugs, who are in turn kept in check by your duly elected representatives......;):)

Insurance companys are private corporations and give (buy/bribe) politicians for special consideration.

Police departments are bureaucracys and have to be under the guise of legal propriety.

No Frog, actually she is not with us anymore....:'(
Actually my comment stemmed from my outrage when I heard that homeland security had set up a checkpoint over on the penninsula & stopped every car.....
They were not looking for a specific individual, mind you....
Washington state law specifically prohibits this type of carp......
Under the 'Patriot Act', the Feds do not have to comply..........:|
& no, they are not all jack booted thugs.......;)

When did we arrive at the idea that lowering risk and increasing profit was somehow evil? :'(
If not to make profit, what is the purpose of a company?

Well not every insurance company is bad. It's a free market you know, where the best companies rise to the top on the merit of their products and services. We spend our dollars with the good ones and the bad ones either shape up of go out of business.

Your point is? Trust me, if you want FREEDOM you won't gert it with the state running things.
In a Free society, we live under these rules. So?:

Would you like a State run insurance system where you have NO choice? Outside the "party line" you may be scheduled for ???????. Again, not your choice.

Be very careful what you wish for.

Right again! When you don't like the status quo, the only alternative is a socialist program. It's one way or the other so suck it up. 8)

That's a big 10 - 4 i386! Some police officers are problems, but the real problem is the legislatures as elected by victim citizens passing more and more intrusive laws that the poor police must try to enforce. my $.02 JR
