WillyBWright was correct on my earlier post. I said we had a Sea King but indeed it was a Sea Horse. Thank you for the correction. If the model # is RDE-19 c could you tell me for sure what year it is? Also Serial # is 1739155. It would be appreciated. Also we have read that the fuel tankl has to be pressurized or something and we did not get the fuel tank. Is this true? That we got told is why there is a funny looking connection on the fuel to tank plug. Thanks

It is a 57 first year for the 35hp.It does use a pressurized tank. You can find them on ebay.
They are expensive. The connector at the motor is really expensive so be sure it is included if you buy a tank.
You can also convert it to a single line tank.Someone here will put you on to the procedure.
Personally I would keep it original.
If you post this over at Evinrude/Johnson forum will get you more help.

There is a thing on the side of the motor that looks like it could be a fuel pump it has a diaphragm thing on it. But I thought that the pressurized tank had the fuel pump in it. Is that not correct?

There is no fuel pump on pressurized tank models. It uses pressure from the manifold on the engine (near the carb) which goes down the 2nd hose to the tank and pressurizes the tank and pushes the fuel back through the 1st hose... and there is a primer button on the tank to manually pump fuel to the carb before the process works...

If what you think looks like a fuel pump is solid metal with a wire connected to the center, it's a safety switch. If it has a glass bowl under it, it's a fuel filter.

Are there 3 prongs on the external fuel connector or 2? If 3, they are the alignment pin, air out and fuel in (older models). If 2. they are alignment pin and fuel in to the pump (newer models)

Sounds like you are pretty good at this johnson. I have a 25hp sea horse and yesterday it started like always and then sputtered, died. Checked and found no spark @ spark plugs. Ran it 2 months ago and was ok.I keep it covered so there is no corrosion. Need help. pulled flywheel and saw nothing.
