OK Folks: This is just starting, (one would have thought it would be Michigan, but Minnesota is out front on this upcomming issue). Mark42: Please do not read this.

Apparently the title of this article breaks some rules here on DC. I put it in again but in case it dissapears again: "Shariah in Minnesota?"

Nice of us to accept them into our country & then have them tell us how we should run things....:|
Try that in Iran & see how far you get!.....:%Those cabbies should have their airport licenses yanked if they don't want to serve everyone....
They are the ones who are discriminating.....
Smite the Saracens!......No smiley........

I would love to have them all get fired. As they should as they are not living up to their license. How would this go over if skin heads didn't want to transport african americans or visiting blacks? Yea somewhat differently. Liberal double standards make me sick. How about getting MADD involved. I can't imagine the whack jobs would make the distiction between alcohol injested in some drunk and those carrying it in bottles. More death on the highways. Heck, if I were McDonalds I would start serving pork burgers so I wouldn't have to deal with this garbage. And I would do it as a gift to the American people. Heck get those lawyers on retainer earning their keep. All I can say is: What a bunch of cowards up there in Minn.

I can't imagine this draws a parallel to pharmacists who didn't want to dispense the morning after pill. Funny, I remember a different reaction from our leftist community over that issue. BTW pregancy is not a public health issue, it is a personal health decision, it is a totally natural thing.

Well yeah, it does.....
If your religion precludes you from doing a job, you shouldn't be doing that job.......IMHO

I Agree too. Ya know JB, I think me Bro is likely more of a 'critical thinker' then one would think on the face of many of his posts. He is very tricky with semantics: Ya know. 'Course you have been watchin' him longer then I have been debatin' him. Respectfully JR

Ahem . . . and I, for once, disagree with Pointer. I think this actually may indicate a double standard on the Right . . . Most of us (me included) had a hard time with the Pharmacists issue. For me it was not the religious implications of the discussion, but the mandating of a private businessman (the Pharmacist). I am rethinking that as in the example of the Cab Drivers they both carry a license to do a job. That license comes with responsibilities, so, to be consistent, I think they should both shut up or find another profession.

The whole article: It is not against Islamic rules to transport alcohol or handle pork. It is the power grabbing extremists who are causing trouble. The same guys that support terrorism.
I'm an American born Christian. If I feel my employment contradicts my beliefs I have to find a new job.
I could never have a job like pimp or drug dealer. They are against my beliefs. Because this is the USA nobody forces me to do a job I don't want to do.

Re: WSJ Op Ed Article:

I'm reminded if the "good" muslims I watched in Bahrain. When the Sauds would cross the causeway from Dhahran into Bahrain they would tak off their traditional thobe and gutra (white dress like shirt and tablecloth on their head) and don jeans and polo shirts. Then they would go to a local place like Tobbasco Charlies or Fat Cats and get hammered. Good Arabs there mind you. Then they'd cross back into Saudi Arabia and become good pious muslems again.

Please. They're just like everyone else. Hypocritical and judgemental. It's convenient NOT to transport people and use their religion as a shield. Someone nailed it up top, what if someone else's busines did that but targeted a specific demographic? Hispanics? African Americans? Natives? They'd go out of business.

Truly sad. Come to America and leanr bigotry, when it suits you anyway.
