Howdy all,

I am thinking of a new bemini top for my Glastron sx-170. It's a nice to have, especially with younger kids. The sun gets to them at times.

My questions: I hear Sunbrella is the most durable. Iboats has them for around $300. Does anyone have comments on which fabric to go with? Also, how easy/dificult are these to install? Do they come as a kit with all the necessary hardware? Can a rookie install one?

Do you guys leave these on the boat all summer or take them down? Anything else I should look for?

This forum rocks. Thanks in advance.

I have a sunbrella. I love it. Though a t-top on my application would be ideal this works well. Should be easy enough for 1-2 person install. Might need some help holding it in place to test fit.

Make sure you measure the boat very well so you get the correct frame. Get the 3 bow frame.much more solid and the top is longer..

Sunbrella is the way to go. It's more expensive but it is worth it.

i have a 6 foot and wish i had an 8 ft. you want it high enough you don't hit your head on it. also a sliding track is conventient, as i can adjust mine so it is low in the bow or stearn, depending or where the sun is. kind like tilting and unbrella. order the cover with the top, when towing lower the top and install the cover.

I double second TSD on the slide track. When on the road or at night I slide mine all the way to the transom completely out of the way.
