67 9.5 hp johnson fuel pump

mine is leaking and i was told to get the sierra 18-7823 fuel pump kit, the problem is it doesnt look like the right kit. the model of my motor is MQ-13 help

Is your existing fuel pump about 1.5" square or is it larger with 5 sides?

The earliest 9.5's had the 5 sided ones. The square shaped ones came later. If you had the square shaped one, this link will help:

It also affirms the Sierra Repair kit number.

I know that either pump works fine, and that the square ones were used from 68 on, but I am not sure about 1967.

The square pumps are available as OMC/BRP #s 382224, 388833, 391638, and 397839 . The OMC/BRP repair kit is 393088 and the Sierra aftermarket repair kit is 18-7823.

I don't see anything listed for a 9.5 and the pictures don't look like a fit.Perhaps a dealer can help.
Probably have to be a well established one; some run scared when they see older stuff.

The pump isnt the square one. the number on the back is 304 089 2

The large pump is # 380034, superseded by 388685 and possibly 438556.

I have two of my motors set up with pump # 438562, which is the same configuration and size and works very well.

The Sierra kit for your fuel pump is 18-7800.
