These engines are on a 31 ocean master. The starboard engine has never had a problem. The Port engine SINCE NEW has continuously had a check engine alarm and over heating EMM code.

The EMM has been replaced once and reflashed once the entire cooling system has been gone through and cleaned out. The cansiter below the EMM has been taken apart and cleaned out and also replaced twice, I now have another one on order.

That engine also blew a fuel injector off one of the cylinders. The boat stays at the shop more than we have used it. It is not run in the sand nor mud I have also noticed much more corrosion on this engine as compared to the other one, also this engine burns more oil than the starboard I dont know if that matters. They work on the motor then within 4-5 hours running time it starts all over again with the codes. HELP!!!!!

Put a piece of 5/16" clear hose on the water outlet of the EMM and run it to the transom well. Run the boat at all speeds and watch the water flow, especially if there are air bubbles in the line. That would mean the motor is not getting solid water at the gearcase inlet screens due to a transducer, thru hull, etc. mounted to close to the motor's centerline.

The dealer can order high flow water inlets if that is the case.

Have the brass fittings for the water lines at the powerhead base been removed and checked behind them for shell, sand, debris, etc ?
