American Politicians are Sheep by and large. If they have 5000 constituents that say nothing and one Godless Communist Democratic Atheist that complains, they'll cater to that SOB. Hence the dropping of Easter. The Libs have learned that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Hence, the incessant whining.

I say call it what it is, an Easter Egg hunt. If you don't like that, than take YOUR kids on a rock hunt, or a jelly bean hunt, or anything else you want to hunt, but don't ruin it for everyone and force your idiotic ideas down the majority’s throats. It's high time we take this country back from the idiotic liberal masses..

I have never felt the need to do Reglious stuff outside my place of worship

And never understand the need to put up stuff all over town the dispalys at my church meets my needs and keep the holiday aimed at what it is supposed to be

If you don't like the word Easter appearing in the name of the event or function...........................DON'T PATRONIZE IT...............................I'm sure your kids will understand why they can't participate along with the other children...............................So long as you raised them to view your religion as YOU do. Same goes for Christmas. I have NO problem with any one celebrating their Religious Holidays Days in any fashion or manner they choose. Believe me I will ignore all those I choose NOT to participate in, ................................OK..........................deep breath..............................It's Friday...................................Rant over.

Haveing lived in greenville SC and Johnson City TN as a boy i had a LOT of problems being Calothic

The public school had a problem with a Calothic heathen going to public school and the Chruch even had to have its OWN Boy Scout Troop

Things like this shape your outlook on Reglious things outside of chruch

If you want to get technical, the easter bunny is a pagan thing. Just like Santa and whatever other goons and goblins come on Halloween. The bunny, and the hunt, have nothing to do with Christianity. Think about it, what do rabbits do best? Nowhere in the bible does it mention a bunny, a hunt, or an egg. Neither does it mention Santa, etc etc.

It's just so cute seeing all the little kids dressed up as bunnies running around looking for eggs that I'm not about to make a stink over it. Not to mention I love cadbury cream eggs, don't want those to go away!

Seriously though. Around here I think the Bible thumpers would be more likely to want to remove the word "Easter" (from Easter Egg Hunt) than Liberals. To preserve the true meaning of the season of course. Admittedly though, I don't think I've ever seen a Liberal around here, at least not the ones described on this forum.
