Hey guys, (1972 125hp johnson) I went to change my oil the other day and noticed that when I took the bottom cap off that a couple, as in about 5, drops of water came out then the oil started to come out. Now the oil wasn't milky or anything it just seemed very thin, and from that point the oil started to flow out with no traces of water. I guess that over a season the oil can break down and become thinner? And as for the bit of water is that ok or should I look into replacing the seal? thanks.

ryan the #1 cause of water in the lower unit, is people don't replace the gasket on the drain and vent plugs. every time you take them out, install a new gasket. change atleast once a year, and check atleast every 6months. your in cold country change in the fall before the freeze, will save your lower from cracking if any water in it.
