I don't think we e-mail info.

BTW, list price on those parts is less than 120 dollars, not 300+ for the gear set.

You need to kill the caps lock, it is considered shouting, and many people find it harder to read.

Well there NOT car engines so that will be hard :)

It is a GM industrial motor

http://www.gm.com/automotive/gmpowertrain/engines/specialized/listing.htm

Now if there is a Gen set maker or field pump or forklift place in your area you may have some luck

Generaly it is used in things that do not move :)

There should be timming marks on theoutter face of the
gears (denoted as dots), align these marks together.

Just look at this neat picture I found in a service manual. Had you had a service manual, of any kind, you wouldn't be posting in such a panic because some dummy turned your engine over.

And learn to use some punctuation as well.

Rich,........

You've been asking Questions about a 3.0l,+ Now you say it's a 153cid.......

Which IS it,..??..??.....

3.0l is 181cid,......... 153cid is 2.5l.............
And,......
While they share a Few parts,.... They're 2 Very Different Motors........

Re: i need to know if anyone out there knows what the cross reference is for the 3.0

Call the parts department of any GM dealer (Chevy would be best). The 3.0 is built by GM although it was not used in a car. However, I'm betting the timing gear set is the same as the 2.5. Get the numbers and then go to NAPA. But you can probably remove your old gears, go directly to NAPA and then have them pull the set for a 2.5. Compare them on the spot.

NAPA Doesn't list the Timing Gear Sets for Any of the 4 cylinder motors,.....
I just looked in my Book......
They're listed as N/A.......................

Looks like Either Chevy or Mercruiser are your Answer........

Re: i need to know if anyone out there knows what the cross reference is for the 3.0

A 3.0 engine is a 3 liter (61 x 3 = 183 Cubic Inches). It was not used in cars but I'm betting the timing gear set is the same as the 2.5 liter (153 cubic incher). Take your old gears with you to NAPA and tell them to pull a timing gear set for a 2.5L Chevy of the same year as your engine. Compare them. You don't need a cross reference number. NAPA will do the figuring. If you still feel you want the GM part numbers, do the same thing at your local Chevy dealer. If the parts guy is old enough to get into a bar he/she should be able to figure it out.

I'm Sorry Silvertip,....... But it Don't, Won't Work that Way..........

The 2.5l motor that Chevy has been putting in Cars,+ little Trucks for the last 30 Years,..........
Is NOT the Same as the 2.5l, 153cid Marine/ Industral motor that has been used in Boats even Longer.......
While Both motors are called 2.5l Chevies,..... They share Absolutely Nothing,.... Totally Different Castings, Cranks, Blocks, Heads, ALL Different..........

And,........... The 3.0l is a 181cid,........ 4" Bore X 3.60" Stroke X 4 = 181cid........
