Hi, I just bought a 2001 Bass Tracker Pro Team 175XT and it came with a Motor Guide 43# bow mount trolling motor, I was told it worked and I do beleive the guy i bought it from so my ? is why is it doing the following? I am getting power all the way up to the "plug" in the front, and then I am also getting power to the "foot control", just yesterday I found that If I manually "spin" the prop a little while having the "activate" switch held in on the foot control, It works, so i let it run for about 5 min, then it would work on its own. My worry is that it will do it again? will it? could it just have been "locked up" from the winter? any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you all. Also if anyone could help me with telling me how I can "remove" the current aerator pump in my boat (since one of the pipes is broken on it" that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again email:chezbippy12@yahoo.com thanks

If you value your fingers, keep them away from the prop when the activate switch is on. If the speed control was set on high and you had to help start it, there is something wrong. Either the battery is weak or the bearings in the motor are tight. Could be a bunch of fish line wound around the shaft as well.

Thanks for reply, I am on slow speed when i "touch" the prop myself. I have taken prop off and removed all line/weeds from the shaft. I am thinking it was just the winter making it freeze in place, and since i did run it and it works i am hoping it doesnt happen again.
