I installed a sata hard drive, partitioned it, and installed a dual-boot xp pro on it. (other system is 2000 pro). The 2000 can still get on-line, but the xp can't. Is it a driver? The lan is on the motherboard, and I am getting nada response from Asus, who made the board. (Misplaced the cd that had utilities on it). Any suggestions?

The video card (radeon x300 ) heatsink was hiding the mobo #'s, lol. I've built about 15 puters, but had a senior moment, and forgot to even go into admin system to find it. i386 is micro processor in cpu circuit?

i386 is micro processor in cpu circuit?

You got it...

"Intel 80386 - (Commonly abbreviated to "i386", trademark "Intel386") The successor to the Intel 80286 microprocessor. It was the first Intel processor with 32-bit data and address busses. It can address four gigabytes (2^32 bytes) of memory; however, 16 megabytes is a typical maximum in IBM PCs. The 386 allows multiple application programs to run at the same time (when running under 386-specific operating systems) using "protected mode".
"

It's the one after the 286 and before the pentium. It's a old-school processor and I like to think of myself an an old-school computer guy . People that were in the business when a soldering iron was a every day tool would surely disagree.

The i386 cabinet, etc, is still in use- I hate it when an i386 error rears it's head.
