1983 4hp chrysler

i have a 4hp chrysler that has no compression when you pull the cord. i was on the wolf in fremont a couple years ago started my way toward the launch area to try a new spot the motor started and then really quickly started to bog down and then died and has never started or run ever since. a buddy of mine and i tried working on it got it to run for about two seconds and it has started again since. any help would be greatly appreciated

You're pretty close to me. I used to work in Oshburg.

I ran into a similar situation with a small Yamaha once. After trying everything under the sun I removed the head and found that the cylinder twisted 90 degrees in the block from overheating and the ports didn't line-up anymore. That was it's only problem.

That's a single cyl, water cooled engine. first check for a bad head gasket. While the head is off, check for a hole melted in the piston crown and/or bad scoring of the cyl walls. Bad news! I have one of those engines and some parts are no longer available.
