right here we go
i had a problem with fuel peeing out the top screw in the carb you guys diagnosed as sticky float, i took carbs off and the one that was doing the peeing i found the spring wasnt in the hole on the float

question 1- would this have been the cause of it wanting to wee

question 2- i have cleaned it all but not upset any of the mixture screws can i put the carbs straight back on(new gaskets of course)

i was clueless about outboards until i read the 500 pages on this site
thanks in advance

Re: carbs off

Hammy, If the spring on top of the float was missing, I would expect fuel to leak out of the back drag carb jet.

Re: carbs off

it was flowing out of a hole in the top of the carb and it was as much as comes out of the water tell tale

if you look at the carb from the back of the boat the screw with the hole in it is at the top left side which i feel it was the spring as the carb would flood the top bit wouldnt close so fuel is being forced out the easiest way
ive now put the spring back in and will replace carbs on sunday and will let you know thumbs up or thumbs down

Re: carbs off

That would be the air bleed for the back drag feature.
