1992 V6 150 tach prob

the tach stopt working after running the motor for about 20 minutes.
checked the voltage at the battery wit motor running and with motor off the rectifier still charges the batterys. with motor running 14.6 v motor off 12.6 v.

how do i check the tach signal to the tach?

You should be able to read 4 or 5 volts on the send wire with the engine running. This would narrow it down to the Tach......
