You don't need to take the blue panel off. Typically, you take off the plastic faceplate of the controller and there will be 4 screws holding it on. The controller will be removed out the back. There may be a set screw at the bottom of the handle somewhere to remove the handle first.

Thanks, Bruce. I had taken the handle off at one point and the 4 screws as well. I didn't try to pull anything though since I noticed the loose switch soon after.

I guess there is enough play in the wires/cables to let me move it where I can see what is going on.

I'll pull off the handle again and see what I can do. I have the feeling that the screw that goes into the switch has been sheered off.

Well, weekend's over...

If you can get the cover off the body of the control it's likely it will become obvious where the switch goes. I know it can be a bit intimidating doing your own surgery on your boat but I think you will find it is more simple than you imagine. Keep us posted!

I just got back into town. (Wonderful weather in Lakeland, Fla!!)
