heys Guys, 2003 ELPTO 90hp Had it out yesterday. At WOT i got a long steady high pitched tone. Guages looked fine and plenty of oil. Any input? I searched my owners manual and nothing.

Steady beep is either an overheat or low oil. Look at page 41 of your Outboard owners manual.
They both may be ok, just a bad sensor, but you need to check it out.

Re: long Steady Tone

there is a hole on top of my reservoir that looks like a plug is supposed to be there. Is this a concern or is that a breather? I had a good water flow from the pee hole and I felt the head. It didnt seem to be overheating. I wish I had a temp guage.

Like I said, it could also be a faulty sensor. Since all appears ok and it doesn't feel hot, Disconnect the float for the oil, or the overtemp switch and try it and see if it goes away. Do one at a time so you know which one is causing the problem.

Dont mean to be dumb here Don, I know where the oil float is but where is the overtemp. What color wires go into it?

Should be on the head, will have a tan with light blue stripe going to it.

never mind, figured it out. Apparently this a common issue with the sensor.
