interchange 1988 outdrive on 1993 alpha 1

i would like to buy a used outdrive what years of mercruiser interchange with a 1993 alpha 1 with 5.7 my case broke so if i need to swap a shaft or gear its ok i dont know if the bolt patern changed from 70s, 80s to 90s

You have an Alpha I Gen II drive now. So you need to stick with that. You can't stick a 1990 or older drive on your transom shield.

1991 to Present,.... In a 1.5:1 gear ratio.....

Or you may want to check out SEI for a brand new drive with three year warranty for a little over a grand.
