While working on my floor over the winter, I got a bit of epoxy on my hand and touched the side of the boat. Now I have a couple nice fingerprints on the side of the boat. How can I get that off now? Can I use acetone, or will it harm the gelcoat? Would just a rubbing compound get that off of there? Thanks!

I'd start with Fine Sandpaper,....... I don't think Acetone will Touch Hardened Epoxy, or the Gelcoat.....

Then on to Polish,+ Wax......

I had a similar problem. I wet sanded the epoxy off down to the gel coat with progressively finer paper. Finished off with 1000 and then compounded it. Can't tell it was ever there!!
