Hello, all of you

I'm new here.
so ill introduce my self.

Ilive in Holland.(I'm not doing drugs :D )
In a smal town near Rotterdam Caled West Maas.
I own a black Zodiac seri 1.
with a evinrude 25 hp engine 1975 (probably)
It has a number in side on a metal disk it reads. 255b2b-b07213
It Came without an instruction manual.
tried the evinrude site but couldnt find it.
Does some body know where to get a manual.

Could some body help me please.

It doesnt run properly it runs to slow and sudenly it starts to run faster and slower again and it doesnt keep running stationair (hope stationair is also an english word becouse i dont know:confused: .) and i dont know what it is.
I think it is the air fuel mixture.

Re: Hello. Greetings and a problem.

hi Turin, welcome to iboats. we welcome your european friends.

i believe you are correct about the 1975. below is a link to and US site for the reprints of the original evinrude manuals, you can also take the numbers, search ebay for them. i think you are correct in your diagnosis. dirty carborator, of miss adjusted, i will include a second link for the carb adjustments, if these don't help, then you need to pull the carbs, clean them and reassemble with a rebuild kit, including float. Good Luck

Re: Hello. Greetings and a problem.

i just thought of something else, there may be a spring missing in the throttle linkage, allowing the throttle plate in the carb to fluctuate.

The trottle plate Is fine.

It does the same at high rpm by the way.

it could be that the thing is just dirty couse it ran on 1% or so diesel fuel (some left in the tank:redface: ) tank is clean now.

Re: Hello. Greetings and a problem.

if it had diesel in it change or atleast clean plugs, now the whole story comes out. also diesel burns dirty. there is a product called Seafoam, in the US, will add a link, find something similar, and add to your fuel oil mix to clean the diesel deposit out of the engine. you can contact them and see if there is a distributer in your area.

Re: Hello. Greetings and a problem.

the product for your car can be mixed with the oil/fuel mix. the seafoam has an additional lubricant in it so that you can spray it directly into the carb. also makes a good starting fluid. never use Ether as a starting fluid on a 2 stroke engine.
