Re: how do i run this?

The model number should either be on the transom bracket or on a Welch plug on the block. It looks like a 1986 or 1987. 1.2HP Junior.

The parts manuals are on line here:

http://epc.brp.com/default.aspx?brands=ej&lang=e

I think that the screw you removed is for the starter. You might want to look around for a service manual.

Re: how do i run this?

fill it with 50/1 fuel mix. put in the some water, pull out the choke, throttle to start. pull the rope. it is a direct drive, no neutral.

Re: how do i run this?

Simply set them where the motor runs best. Set the high speed one while running at full throttle and the slow speed one at idle. Do the high speed one first.

the screw on top holds your recoil together,if you are lucky you can put it back in and get it to tighten, buts since the cord comes out i think it to late for that you have to keep that screw in there for now remove the top cover and reassemble the recoil mechanism, watch out for the spring.now the screws on the carb one is your low speed and one is your high speed, you can start with the bottom one gently turn it in until it just stops then back it out 1 1/2 turns then do the same for the top screw but only turn it out 3/4 to 1 turn pull start the engine you may need to choke it get it up to operating temp then run it up to full speed [this is while its in water of course] slowly turn the bottom screw until you get the max rpms then turn it back until it starts to cough or cut out turn it in between those 2 points and you should be fine do the same with the low speed to get the best idle without it cutting out.i do sugest getting a manual.

Does anyone have any advice on how i would go about rewinding the recoil spring for the pull starter cord ???, (on an evinrude junior, model EJRCUA). Apparently the retaining screw on the top of the motor loosened up, and it let go on me last night, now the pull cord won't retract. I desperately need to get this fixed asap, but cannot afford to bring somewhere to get fixed. Any advice on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
