I am in the process of purchasing a new 2007 Sea Pro 186 Dual Console powered by a Mercury 150 OptiMax Saltwater Series. Will sea trial the boat tomorrow.

Does anyone on here have any experience with this boat and if so, what great bits of wisdom could you share?

Re: 2007 Sea Pro 186 DC

Conducted a Sea Trial on this boat today. What a superb machine. Powered by a Mercury Optimax 150HP, this boat got on plane in record time and handled beautifully. WOT was right at 52mph according to the speedometer. My only complaint could be the steering. Boat is equipped with BayStar Hydraulic steering but it probably could have been manufactured to be a bit easier to steer. Not sure if there is anything I can do to assist this issue. I should have delivery by this weekend. If anyone is considering this same model/setup let me know and I will gladly provide whatever input I can. This is the first year for this model and it looks like it will be a popular seller...

Re: 2007 Sea Pro 186 DC

I'm buying the same boat this weekend in Charleston, SC... I first saw the SeaPro a couple of years ago at the boat show here in Charlotte, and I was *impressed* because the boat was so stankin' beautiful.

I started looking for a new boat because I was tired of working on the old one, and the wife decided that *we* wanted something more reliable. So after much searching, we finally decided to buy the 186 DC, just as you have.

I'm picking it up this weekend, so wish me luck. :)

Hi Guys,

I'm 99% committed to buying a 2007 Sea Pro 186 Dual Console this weekend and wanted to see if those of you who already have one, are satisfied thus far with the boat. Any advice or information is appreciated!! Thanks.

I took delivery of my 2007 Sea Pro 186 DC - It IS a superb machine. It runs beautifully with a Merc 150 and handles waves like no other boats i've ever been in. When I bring it back home I'll post pics. I agree with the previous poster, it does steer a little hard.

Re: 2007 Sea Pro 186 DC

I am also looking at possibly buying one of these new and have a few questions.

First, my tow vehicle is a Ford Escape 4WD-V6 rated for 3500 Lbs. towing. Think that is going to do? If not, I may have to pass on this boat.

I think I would put a 115 HP 4-stroke on her and primary purpose is pleasure cruising, not water sports and not fishing. I just like the looks and lines of most Dual Console boats as opposed to sports car speed boats.

Secondly, what is holding me back is my wife wants the cushy ski boat ammeneties and we find the DC boats lacking especially in the stern seating. How are the stern seats in this boat?? Are they decent?? supprtive of your back at all?? I've seen some that are plain worthless unless your sitting still.

I'm in NJ and hope this is the right boat for me.
Thanks,
Ken

Re: 2007 Sea Pro 186 DC

I actually got back from looking at a sea pro 186 and 196 cc. I really want the 196cc but is kinda out of my budget. 36k out the door with t top, nav/fish finder, dual batteries and a vhf. But the 186 is 28k out the door with raw water washdown, nav/fish finder, t top, dual batteries and a vhf. My wife like the 196 because its a little roomier and she especially like the idea of having a head.

I filled out a credit app, we will see.
