gas tank cleaning

i have a 30 gal gas tank. any good idea's on how to clean it.

My thoughts exactly. There shouldn't be much to clean inside the tank unless is a disel tank thats been sitting for a while. Dont worry about it. Just keep the filters new every year.

engines being put in at shop boat sat 5-10 years or so. thats why i wanted to pull tank and clean it the last one i had a leak in it. i could not find a tank the right size. si i filled it with water and a guy charged me 100.00 to weld a nice patch on the alm.

Is this the tank that was welded?

I would imagine that you would need to pull it in order to properly clean and then dump the cleaner out.​

Bob, I usually tilt the trailer tongue up and siphon out the lowest part of the tank to get the water out of the tank. If you need further cleaning, you likely will need to pull the tank and toss in some washers, bolts nuts, etc, and swish them around. Now you can drain the dirt out of the tank via the fuel gauge sender.
